Job Title:  Program Support Specialist

Organization: Strider Education Foundation

Overview:

The Strider Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is seeking a Program Support Coordinator position to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the operation of the All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program and the All Abilities Bike Inclusive Learn-to-Ride Camps by managing communications with schools, coordinating donor engagement moments, leading camp logistics, and providing vital administrative and grant-writing support.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and an excellent communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities. This role requires a passion for our mission of teaching kids how to ride a bike and the skills to ensure smooth program execution, donor satisfaction, and strong community engagement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Program & Event Coordination:
    • Coordinate and oversee outreach to schools to generate interest in the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program.
    • Assist with coordinating school program reveal moments, collaborating with donors and school representatives to ensure a memorable experience.
    • Lead oversight and logistics of the All Abilities Bike Camps, including registration setup and camp coordination.
    • Serve as a backup for the process of receiving applications, providing training access, and processing program orders.
  • Grant Writing & Development Support:
    • Assist with preparing and formatting grant applications and funding proposals for review by Executive Director .
    • Help gather program data, stories, and supporting materials needed for applications.
    • Support in tracking potential funding opportunities and organizing related information.
    • Collaborate with the team to compile updates and outcomes for donor reports.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage and organize office files, documents, and records.
    • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence.
    • Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations.
    • Conduct research and gather relevant data to support various projects.
    • Must possess strong digital skills and be comfortable with emerging technologies, including AI.
  • Communication & Customer Relations:
    • Maintain positive and effective communication with educators, donors, and partners.
    • Demonstrate strong customer service skills
    • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven history of successful relationship management, ideally in a nonprofit environment.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management software.
  • Self-confident, self-directed, and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, respond promptly to inquiries, and maintain accurate records.
  • Positive and enthusiastic communication style when engaging with team members, educators, and external partners.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time using a phone and computer.
  • Willing to assist with some after hour/weekend events.

Location and Hours:

  • This position is in Rapid City, SD.
  • Regular office hours are Monday-Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to noon.

Pay:

  • $17.31 – $20.19 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Reports to the Executive Director.
  • This is a full time, hourly non-exempt position and qualifies for a benefits package that includes paid time off, sick leave, health benefit stipend, and additional perks.

As part of the hiring process, selected final candidates may be asked to participate in a short job shadowing experience. This allows both the candidate and the team to gain a better understanding of the role, responsibilities, and work environment before a job offer is extended.
