Fernando Avallone
Cycling Enthusiast
Fernando was born in Brazil and is a high-level connector in the action sports and motor racing world, with deep family roots in motorsports – his dad was a household name race car driver, builder and race organizer back the 60’ and 70’s, and he grew up in that environment.
Always involved with athletes’ careers and teams’ management, press work, marketing and contract negotiations, Fernando relocated to the USA in the late ’80s and soon became an influential member of the bicycle industry as an athlete liaison and journalist, covering work on every discipline on two wheels from Triathlon, Mountain Bike, and BMX, and particularly working alongside some UCI MTB World Cup and World Championship teams and athletes.
With an eye for talent and emerging trends, Fernando returned to his family’s roots in the car racing world, first working for winning drivers like Kanaan and da Matta at the top series in the country, then managing the A1GP Team Brazil international franchise for two-time Formula One World Champion (and two-time Indy 500 winner) Emerson Fittipaldi for a few seasons, while still working with young developing drivers, winning in races and tracks all over globe, a passion to this day. More recently he was able to initiate and close all necessary partnerships for an American company to build, in Rio de Janeiro, the SX BMX track for the 2016 Olympic Games – track delivered on time, on budget.
Today, Fernando remains active also in the cycling sport and bicycle community, building opportunities for the next generation of riders to take the sport to the next level. Fernando is proud to be an All Kids Bike Ambassador as he and his wife Roberta, and young son Nico, are all riders for life!
