Nick Troutman

Freestyle Kayak World Champion | 8x National Kayak Champion

Nick Troutman is an addict of adventure. He is a world champion, professional athlete, content creator, podcast host, entrepreneur, coach, consultant, and family man. Ever since he was 13-years-old, he’s been addicted to the sport of kayaking. He says, “I’m extremely grateful for the fact that kayaking has taken me around the world and back.”

His athletics have brought him to the world stage, where he has competed against many of the best athletes in the sport. “I can humbly say I have spent plenty of time on the podium, as well as taken my share of losses as well. Though I continue to learn and grow every time I compete, both against fellow athletes and myself.”

Teaching has always been a large part of Nick’s life, as he tries to share his knowledge and experiences, as he knows that a rising tide lifts all boats. He has taught a variety of individuals and coached many top young athletes over the past decade.

Nick has been fortunate enough to be a part of several big production shots, media exposures, and large scale events. He is grateful for his partnerships and collaborations with top brands, including GoPro, Jackson Kayak GMC, Fat Tire Beer, and Adidas, to name a few.

Nick became a father for the first time seven years ago. Since then he has transitioned from focusing solely on the adrenaline search, to a broader range of more family-focused adventures, as they spend 6-10 months out of the year traveling North America in their 30-foot trailer.

Philanthropy is a big passion of Nicks, as he feels he has been given so many incredible opportunities, and desires to give as much back as possible. He has donated thousands of dollars personally, and assists with many nonprofits to get their boots on the ground.

Most recently, Nick started his own podcast called ‘The Art of Awesome,’ continuing on his search for the “secret sauce to success.” His focus is to learn from top performers in their own field as they share their decades of knowledge and nuggets of gold.
