National Ambassador James Carter

When you’re young, it’s not easy to know what you want to be “when you grow up”. Some adults are still trying to figure this out, but that wasn’t a problem for All Kids Bike National Ambassador James Carter. When James was only fourteen years old, he knew he wanted to ride Freestyle Motocross. With determination, passion, and hard work, he was able to embark on a professional career as an FMX rider by the time he was only eighteen years old.

Born in California and growing up in South Dakota, James spent most of his younger years honing his craft of motorcycle riding. “It started on a BMX bike for me, jumping in the dirt and loving life” James shared.  James has endured some major accidents resulting in broken bones, but he stayed focused on getting back on that motorcycle and pushing his career forward. His determination and hard work have led him to a fulfilling career that includes travel all over the world and even performing with the Nitro Circus shows. When you attend a Freestyle Motocross event and watch James perform, you will see how those early BMX biking days helped him perfect his talent of “smooth-sailing” through the air on his motorcycle. You will also see how much James enjoys interacting with his fans, especially the young kids. “When I was young, I looked up to Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, he was always encouraging to the kids, and I appreciated that. Now that I have an opportunity to perform and see those young kids looking at me, I want to make sure I do the same for them. I enjoy seeing them; it reminds me of when I was young, taking in all the action. I’m grateful I have that opportunity now, and for my friendship with Jeremy.”

We asked James what it meant to him to be an All Kids Bike National Ambassador, and this is what he shared. “Having this chance to become a National Ambassador for All Kids Bike is such a big opportunity and something that I have always wanted to be a part of! Growing up as a kid, all I wanted to do was ride bikes and still until this day, that’s all I want to do. My little nephews and I are always going to the BMX jumps or Rapid City BMX track to get some riding in the days I am home. It’s in my blood “2 wheels for life,” and I know it will always be in our family. I am 100% all-in for the All Kids Bike movement.”

James has been selected to be a National Ambassador for All Kids Bike because of his commitment to getting kids on the right track toward a healthy lifestyle by introducing them to the fun and excitement of riding a bike. “When I have the opportunity to talk to the kids, the first question they always ask is, “how did you get started?” and my answer is; riding my BMX bike! I encourage kids to chase after their dream, no matter what it is. Your heart is already there, so you must get your mind dialed in on it. Get over your fears and go for it.”

We are so excited to have James Carter as a National Ambassador for All Kids Bike and will be cheering him on as he sails smoothly through the air on his motorcycle touring across the world, encouraging kids to “go for it!”
