Coca-Cola Consolidated to Fund All Kids Bike Program to Empower Kindergarten Students in Memphis Shelby County Elementary Schools
[Cordova, TN, November 12, 2024]: All Kids Bike, the national 501(c)(3) nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE class, is activating their All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program at four Memphis Shelby County Elementary Schools, thanks to a generous donation from Coca-Cola Consolidated.
Coca-Cola Consolidated, a steadfast advocate for community enrichment, has made a generous donation to bring the All Kids Bike® Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program to life in four Memphis Shelby County Schools: Riverwood, Idlewild, Winchester and Gardenview. This innovative program equips each school with teacher training and certification, complete curriculum with lesson plans, games and activities, a fleet of 24 Strider balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, fully adjustable student helmets, an instructor bike with pedal conversion kit and helmet, two rolling storage racks, and access to a resource portal with live support for the life of the program.
“We’re honored to partner with A Kids Bike to provide access to bikes and giving children a place to learn to ride,” said Aaron Bell, Vice President, Sales and Service, for the Coca-Cola Consolidated Mid-South Market Unit. ”Coca-Cola Consolidated is honored to be a part of this program and enable children with this valuable skill.”
Lisa Weyer, executive director of the Strider Education Foundation, expressed appreciation for the partnership with Coca-Cola Consolidated, emphasizing the transformative impact of early bike riding education. “Bike riding develops physical and mental well-being, instills confidence and fosters better classroom focus. We are deeply grateful to partner with Coca-Cola Consolidated to bring the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program to these schools and lay the foundation for a lifelong skill.” The implementation of this program will positively impact thousands of kindergarten students each year by teaching them how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class.
“Our children deserve a richer, more connected experience of healthy play,” stated Michael Lowe, Principal at Riverwood Elementary School. “Movement truly is medicine, and the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride program not only reduces stress but also fosters confidence in our young riders. A heartfelt thank you to Coca-Cola Consolidated for supporting this vital initiative!”
Coca-Cola Consolidated, with its commitment to fostering healthy and vibrant communities, continues to be a beacon of corporate responsibility.
