Klock Werks to Fund All Kids Bike Program to Empower Kindergarten Students in Forestburg, SD
[Forestburg, SD, November 14, 2024]: All Kids Bike, the national 501(c)(3) nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE class, is activating their All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program at Sanborn Central School District, thanks to a generous donation from Klock Werks.
The comprehensive program includes teacher training and certification, complete curriculum with lesson plans, games and activities, a fleet of 24 Strider balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, fully adjustable student helmets, an instructor bike with pedal conversion kit and helmet, two rolling storage racks, and access to a resource portal with live support for the life of the program. Sanborn Central School District celebrated the introduction of the program with a kickoff event alongside Klock Werks attendees, who had the opportunity to build the bikes for the program beforehand.
“It’s inspiring to utilize an event like the Palace City Pre-Sturgis Party to raise awareness and continue to outfit schools in Eastern South Dakota with bikes. Kicking off with a community motorcycle event allowing us to get kids outside and on two wheels is a fun way to empower children in our area. It’s a great way for us to give back,” said All Kids Bike ambassador and Klock Werks president Brian Klock. “There is always that one kid who needs this program, which makes every effort worth it!”
“We are thrilled and deeply grateful for the generous donation from Klock Werks,” said Lisa Weyer, Executive Director of All Kids Bike. “Their unwavering support is instrumental in helping us achieve our mission to teach every child in America how to ride a bike during kindergarten PE classes. Their dedication to fostering a passion for two-wheeled activities aligns seamlessly with our vision of empowering children with the lifelong skill of biking. Together, we are creating a path toward a healthier, more active future for the next generation.”
At Sanborn Central School District, this program will positively impact approximately 13 kindergarten students each year by teaching them how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. With a lifespan of 7-10 years for the equipment, it is estimated that up to 130 students will benefit from this initiative over the next decade.
“We are beyond grateful to Klock Werks for their support in bringing the All Kids Bike Program to our students at Sanborn Central,” stated Sanborn Central School District Superintendent, Corey Flatten. “This program goes far beyond just learning to ride—it’s about teaching confidence, independence, and the importance of staying active. Creating additional opportunities for Sanborn Central students is one of our school’s pillars of excellence, and this program exemplifies that.”
Klock Werks and All Kids Bike are committed to enriching the lives of young learners and cultivating valuable skills through the joy of bike riding. This collaborative effort exemplifies their dedication to building healthier, happier communities, one pedal at a time.
