Ryan Dungey Foundation Launches All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Program at Two Salt Lake City Elementary Schools

SALT LAKE CITY – May 10, 2024All Kids Bike, the national nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE class, is activating their All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program at Bonneville Elementary School and Indian Hills Elementary School, thanks to a generous donation from the Ryan Dungey Foundation.

Four-time Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey of the Ryan Dungey Foundation, along with Supercross racers who are competing in the Monster Energy Supercross over the weekend, built and delivered the bikes to excited kindergarten students. The Ryan Dungey Foundation is dedicated to creating opportunities for the next generation of children. Their efforts are focused on supporting the fight against childhood cancer and our commitment to help children live healthy and active lifestyles. The Foundation raises valuable funds in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and All Kids Bike.

Lisa Weyer, Executive Director of All Kids Bike expressed gratitude to the Ryan Dungey Foundation and their gift. “I am profoundly grateful for the generous support from the Ryan Dungey Foundation which has made the All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program possible at Bonneville Elementary and Indian Hills Elementary School. Together, we are empowering the next generation with essential skills and fostering a lifelong love for physical activity.”

Indian Hills Elementary Principal Thomas Luthy is looking forward to the opportunity for their students to learn how to safely ride on two wheels. “Learning to ride a bike, being safe while riding, and enjoying the ride are as fundamental as learning to swim. Indian Hills is thrilled to receive this opportunity which will become a fun and educational part of our yearly kindergarten curriculum. Our five and six year olds will come out of kindergarten not only knowing how to read and tie their shoes, but also safely ride through the neighborhood!”

At Bonneville Elementary this program will teach approximately 55 kindergarten students how to ride a bike annually. With the equipment lifespan of 7-10 years, this program will impact up to 550 kids. Indian Hills Elementary will be able to teach 50 kindergarteners each year and will impact up to 500 kids over the lifespan of the program.
