The Dale Jr. Foundation Fuels Early Learning Adventure: Commits to Funding All Kids Bike Program for Kindergarten Students

TROUTMAN, NC – May 6, 2024: All Kids Bike, the national nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE class, is activating their All Kids Bike Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Program at Troutman Elementary School, thanks to a generous donation from The Dale Jr. Foundation.

The comprehensive program includes teacher training and certification, a fleet of 24 bikes, pedal conversion kits, helmets, an instructional bike for teachers, two rolling storage racks, and access to a resource portal with live support for the duration of the program. Troutman Elementary celebrated the introduction of the program with a kickoff event alongside The Dale Jr. Foundation, JR Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Driver Sammy Smith and the 8 Crew, and All Kids Bike attendees.

“We are ecstatic to once again partner with All Kids Bike,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, vice president of The Dale Jr. Foundation. “Our hope is that this is just one thing that can help empower these kids to do great things now, but also in the future.”

Lisa Weyer, executive director of the Strider Education Foundation, expressed gratitude for the partnership with The Dale Jr. Foundation, emphasizing the transformative impact of early bike riding education. “Today marks a significant milestone in our mission to empower children with the essential skill of riding a bike. We are so appreciative of our continued partnership with the Dale Jr. Foundation, a collaboration rooted in our shared dedication to fostering healthy and active lifestyles for children across the nation. Through this partnership, we are providing invaluable opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and experience the joy of two wheels.”

At Troutman Elementary, this program will positively impact approximately 124 kindergarten students each year. With a lifespan of 7-10 years for the equipment, it is estimated that up to 1,240 students will benefit from this initiative over the next decade. Kim Koehler, Troutman Elementary PE Teacher is looking forward to launching the program. “We are so incredibly grateful for this generous donation to our students.  We are excited to have the opportunity to introduce our kindergarten students to a lifelong skill that will help them build self-esteem and confidence and be more physically active.”
